Yesterday was a busy day!
I met our realtor, Karen at a house for a second look around in the morning. I think Jarod and I both agree it has taken over our number one spot on the list. It’s beautiful! The land it sits on isn’t the best but it’ll work. We need to find out more about the situation as it’s another short sale.
After that I got Kyla from school and headed to the store to get some formula for Baby K and then went home to get Preston off the bus. Then the real fun started!
We had agreed to a showing(of the house) for that afternoon. Which meant cleaning the house!!! Therefore I spent the next 3.5 hours cleaning. Then took the kids to gymnastics and returned home to agree to another showing at 6:30. We then met Jarod for dinner and returned home.
Not sure how the showings went but should hear back soon.
As for today! JoAnna graciously watched the kids while I attended an Appreciation Brunch for MENTOR. It was really good food and all of us mentors(Foster Families) received a certificate of appreciation and a tote bag with goodies inside. THEN, they presented two families(out of 64) with a Special Recognition Award….. I was one of them!! Jen, my coordinator(I meet with her every week) came up to the podium and gave a little speech about why I was chosen. Here is what she said:
“This Mentor has continuously gone above and beyond for her client; she has made herself fully available and has the best interest of her children in mind at all times. She is easy to work with and has done all that is asked of her and more. It has been stressful to have a medically complex client in the home and she and her family have done an excellent job with her. I am so very proud to have this Mentor as a part of our agency and I am proud to be working with such a great person. Thank you for all that you do Jamie Wilson”
Of course I shed a tear or two while accepting the certificate. It’s been quite a learning experience to have a medically complex child in your home. I have learned so much, not only about her conditions but about myself. It’s taken a lot of time and patience from not only me and her[Baby K] but from my kids and Jarod. Plus I can’t forget JoAnna!!!! If it wasn’t for JoAnna(or JoAnne for that matter, different person) Kyla and Preston would have had to been drug to many, many more appointments then they ever wanted to. So I thank my support system for always being there for me. For watching the kids or picking them up from school, switching cars, last minute calls, trainings, paperwork, and anything else you’ve done for me. Thank you!! I wouldn’t be able to be the Mentor I am without you guys!
Now I need to go to bed since we have our 3 year anniversary party for our Moms’ Group…. gooooo NAM :0)!
