an all new busy

Yesterday was a busy day!

I met our realtor, Karen at a house for a second look around in the morning. I think Jarod and I both agree it has taken over our number one spot on the list.  It’s beautiful! The land it sits on isn’t the best but it’ll work. We need to find out more about the situation as it’s another short sale.

After that I got Kyla from school and headed to the store to get some formula for Baby K and then went home to get Preston off the bus. Then the real fun started!

We had agreed to a showing(of the house) for that afternoon. Which meant cleaning the house!!! Therefore I spent the next 3.5 hours cleaning. Then took the kids to gymnastics and returned home to agree to another showing at 6:30. We then met Jarod for dinner and returned home.

Not sure how the showings went but should hear back soon.

As for today! JoAnna graciously watched the kids while I attended an Appreciation Brunch for MENTOR. It was really good food and all of us mentors(Foster Families) received a certificate of appreciation and a tote bag with goodies inside. THEN, they presented two families(out of 64) with a Special Recognition Award….. I was one of them!! Jen, my coordinator(I meet with her every week) came up to the podium and gave a little speech about why I was chosen. Here is what she said:

“This Mentor has continuously gone above and beyond for her client; she has made herself fully available and has the best interest of her children in mind at all times. She is easy to work with and has done all that is asked of her and more. It has been stressful to have a medically complex client in the home and she and her family have done an excellent job with her. I am so very proud to have this Mentor as a part of our agency and I am proud to be working with such a great person. Thank you for all that you do Jamie Wilson”

Of course I shed a tear or two while accepting the certificate. It’s been quite a learning experience to have a medically complex child in your home. I have learned so much, not only about her conditions but about myself. It’s taken a lot of time and patience from not only me and her[Baby K] but from my kids and Jarod. Plus I can’t forget JoAnna!!!! If it wasn’t for JoAnna(or JoAnne for that matter, different person) Kyla and Preston would have had to been drug to many, many more appointments then they ever wanted to. So I thank my support system for always being there for me. For watching the kids or picking them up from school, switching cars, last minute calls, trainings, paperwork, and anything else you’ve done for me. Thank you!! I wouldn’t be able to be the Mentor I am without you guys!

Now I need to go to bed since we have our 3 year anniversary party for our Moms’ Group…. gooooo NAM :0)!

Nice, big, break!!

So Jarod randomly decided to take the kids(Preston and Kyla) to visit his brother in NY yesterday. They left yesterday afternoon and should be home shortly. Yes, they were gone all night. I had the house almost all to my self. It has been sooooo quiet. I even slept in until 11 this morning!

I got a bunch of things caught up on… as you might have noticed from the blog updates :0). I also got the pool vacuumed. And after that I headed out to run some errands with Baby K. We then met  a friend at the mall and went shopping for baby clothes. After that tiring work we had dinner. It was fun and I’m glad I got to see Alison and her little man!!

I think Jarod has enjoyed his time too. Hopefully they’ll do it again as it was a great treat for me. This was teh first time he has taken the kids somewhere overnight. Yay, for him :0)

alrighty then

It’s time to back track and catch up!

Let’s see… woo, just looked at the calendar to refresh my memorie and WHOA, a lot has happend in the past week!!!!!!

Let’s go back to the 15th, Kyla had her first Field Trip to Davis’ Farmland with her school. JoAnna and the boys went with me in our car and we spent the day there. But we have to go to the night before first. Since we had to get up early. JoAnna and the boys stayed the night. The kids were so excited! Here are some photos:

The kids really enjoy this place. They have a lot of animals that the kids can pet and feed. Baby K did really well too. She didn’t nap but she didn’t fuss either. On the way home, they all fell asleep :0).

On the 16th, we headed over to JoAnna’s house to have a family BBQ. The kids and parents had a blast. It’s so nice to have another family with kids the same age to do stuff with. And everyone gets a long really well. It’s such a relief and makes life more enjoyable :0).

Then we moved on to the next week. Baby K had court and that was in a previous post. Figure we’ll hear from the court this week to start mediation…. another process to learn about.

Tuesday we ran a bunch of errands. It’s so nice to be able to run errands during the day. I remember having to do it on my lunch hour or after work and it was such a pain. I really do appreciate being able to run to the store in the morning when it’s empty! And not on the weekends when it’s packed!!!!

Anyways, Wednesday Kyla had soccer and then JoAnna watched the kiddos so we could take another look at the house on Groton and another house a few minutes north of us, which was absolutely gorgeous!!! I’m gonna take another look at it on Tues. or Thurs. It’s another short sale so we’ll see. OH and we signed our papers to put our house on the market as of last Thursday afternoon it was up… if you wan to see the listing post a comment or email me and I’ll send you the link :0).

Friday we celebrated the end of all the craziness by going to CoCo Key Water Resort. We’ve been there before but this time we stayed the night at the hotel. It was fun and enjoyable. The kids couldn’t wait to go swimming Friday night and Saturday. With an over night stay you get Friday night and all day Saturday to play at the waterpark. JoAnna had a free pass for her family(from a previous stay, gotta watch for those deals :0) so they met us there on Saturday. It was a nice break from everything and it was weird returning to our home that is now so empty. But yet, so nice and clean :0).

Tomorrow’s the day

So we’ve reached the day… almost. Our house goes on the market tomorrow!!

It’s exciting and nerve racking all at the same time. We took a second look at a house today, plus we looked at another one, it was SO nice!!

Now we just wait and see and hopefully keep the house clean :0)!!

=====

Baby K had court on Monday.. she doesn’t go to court but her attorney does. Her attorney went in pushing for mediation, which is the movement towards adoption. Unfortunately her parents have not been doing anything anything they are suppose to be doing so the judge DID pass the movement for mediation. The next court date is mid-August but for now we are just waiting to hear from somebody that has to do with the court. Interesting, the way it all goes :0).

There’s more to catch up on but I need to go to bed now!

her we go again

Alrighty so yesterday we spent an wonderful 2.5 hours at the health center….. that was sarcasm! I have no idea why it takes so long in that place, it’s really ridiculous. But at least we don’t have to go back for another 2 months!! But on the downside we had to add another medicine back in the mix. At least it’s not a new one, she’s been on it before.  On the bigger bright side we’re actually done with specialists, so our schedule should calm down a bit…….. not.

Today, I took Preston to his pediatrician and her and I talked for a while. He went to a different room and colored… my choice. I went over everything I was concerned about. Mainly how he gets so stuck when he needs something. One example: he gets milk at school, one morning he asked Jarod for milk money while Jarod was in the bathroom. Jarod asked him to go get dressed and then he would get him his milk money. Preston couldn’t get dressed until he got the milk money. Obsessing about it the whole time. This may not seem like a big deal as it’s hard to explain in words. It’s one of those things that you have to experience. And it’s not just a one time thing. If it was Dr. Sanders wouldn’t have referred him to a counselor! Yep, a counselor. Which is good. I need the help in learning how to deal with his behaviors. How to get him unstuck. It’s hard to watch your child have a fit for an hour and nothing you say or do can get him out of it. I’ve seen lots and LOTS of fits, as I use to teach 2’s and 3’s but not like the one’s Preston has, except for the kids who had issues.

Anyways, hopefully this way Preston will get some tools to help express his feelings and to get through them easier. And for us to help him.

What Memo?!?!

Was today Mother’s Day? I think my family missed the Memo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today, for me, was the opposite of Mother’s Day. It started out okay, Jarod got up and gave Baby K her morning bottle but that’s where it stopped. Preston and Kyla were up a half hour later and Baby K an hour later. I was looking forward to sleeping in a bit but no, Jarod had a 9am Soccer game. So everyone was up by 8:30am. I know that late for some but for me it’s early.

We had a relatively good couple hours until I put Baby K down for her morning nap, then it really started! Preston and Kyla went outside to ride bikes and all of a sudden, while feeding Baby K, Kyla starts screaming my name. “Preston’s crashing into me”, she screams. Not five minutes later it starts all over again. So I make them come in the house so I can finish feeding Baby K and get her down for a nap. Preston’s been doing this crashing thing for the past week or two so I took his bike away, his Big Wheel. From then on out he was just out-of-control(he wasn’t even aware the bike was taken away yet).

After Jarod got home we all talked about what happen and Preston was informed because of his choices his bike was gone. He lost it! He completely fell apart! Raging mad! Walked over and kicked me as hard as he could about 3 time and then proceeded to hit me. I was pretty much in shock as this is really odd behavior for him. Jarod removed him from the room and put him in his room. I later went and talked to him for a bit. His poor little brain gets soooo stuck and all he can focus on is wanting his bike back. We’re actually heading to the Dr. Wed. to discuss this… it’s something that we’ve been watching for a while now.

Anyways, the rest of the day was pretty much a disaster. Preston told me he didn’t want it to be Mother’s Day anymore, that he didn’t like Mother’s Day. He wanted it to be Preston’s Day! Honestly, this was a bit disturbing to me and really upset me. I had an emotional talk with him later on in the day and he disappeared for a while and then came up to me and apologized. On his own! So that was “good”.

On the bright side, Jarod did get me Taco Bell for lunch. My FAVORITE!!! Then I went out with about 7 other Mom’s and really celebrated by getting away from the kids :0). We went and watched 17 Again, which was pretty funny and actually not bad…. or maybe that’s just the food and drinks talking ;0). Either way it was a good time. Had some drinks, dinner and a Hot Fudge Sundae. It was a good ending to a hellish day!

Now for all of those Mom’s who had a great Mother’s Day be thankful and hopefully I have a good one next year!

As for Father’s Day, Preston already said he was going to beat Dad up. So that’s something to look forward to ;0).

Oh and I should say my girls at least gave me kisses. Kyla a little too much but I’ll take it. And Baby K’s wide open mouth ones are awesome!
