The house got power-washed today, the start of it journey to a new color…. painting!

After dinner we ran out to the store to get Preston a bat and baseball pants for his upcoming game. While we were there I got some new shoes. I’m knocked kneed so I need good shoes to push my knees out, which of course aren’t cheap.

As I was rocking Baby K tonight(while she was eating) my mind drifted off and I thought about our trip to the store and the total amount of our purchase and our ability to be able to do such things. We are in a really good spot in our lives. Jarod’s job is good. The company is actually doing quite well, which in this time, is a good thing. But it makes me feel a little guilty because of all those who are in the opposite position. I know families that have lost jobs, had to take pay decreases and take on part-time jobs to make things work. But here we are doing just fine.

I then remember a time when Jarod did lose his job(along with all the other employees) because the owner decided he didn’t want to do what he was doing anymore. Jarod was out of a job for 6 months or so. It was soooo scary. Luckily I was still working and he did contract work until he was able to land a full-time job. So I guess what I’m saying, is that I know what it is like to not know if you are going to be able to pay your bills…. scary!

These thoughts led me to think on about where I am in my life, kids, family and such. I honestly have to say that I am very happy where I am. Jarod and I have been together for 12 years and we have grown a lot with our relationship. We’ve learned a lot and really do well with each other, we’re good partners.

I get to stay home with my kids and be a Mom. I’m part of a wonderful company, MENTOR, that helps many, many children. It’s a great “family” to be part of! I have a great group of people I call friends and one awesome best friend that is always there for me. We are enjoying our lives and are genuinely happy with were we are.

I’m very thankful to have taken the journey called, My Life. It’s been a great adventure and can’t wait to see what lies ahead :0).
