Catch-up

So I need to play catch-up, so I’ll start with today

Preston had Hockey this morning, so Jarod took Kyla and him to the rink. Then as soon as they got back we all packed up and took Kyla to her make-up gymnastics class. She had fun and still really enjoys it. We then headed back ate lunch and then I started cleaning for Preston’s PJ Party. He had his first “party” outside of Birthday’s and such. The boys arrived around 4:30 and then the craziness began :0). The boys ran around wrestling and playing Star Wars for about an hour and a half. We then ordered pizza and they all sat down and ate while watching Kung Fu Panda. As soon as they all settled down and got their breath back, they were back at it :0). The movie went off and they went running around again, except this time they headed down to the playroom and played all sorts of games. It was a good night. The kids had fun and while they had fun a couple of Moms and I hung out with Baby K and chit-chatted the night away.

Friday, the kids and I headed down to the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston with Jared and his family. There were about 10 of us, 6 kids, a baby and 3 adults. It rained and hailed on us but not bad and then the sun came out. It was a fun time. Jarod enjoyed the day with the house all to himself while we were gone.

Thanksgiving, we didn’t do much. We made dinner or Jarod did. I had a head cold and was pretty useless but the food was good. Othere then that we didn’t do anything.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, enjoyed some good food and ate too many goodies… I did :0)

we knew it

So this morning I got a call from MENTOR asking if we would take Baby K’s brother(the one we were suppose to get before getting her). Jarod and I agreed to take him but unfortunately DSS determined he didn’t qualify for Intesive Foster Care(which is what MENTOR is).

It’s sad to think that both kids are now in the system and apart. Hopefully they will be reunited if everything works out with Grandma :0).

Besides that fun, we had our weekly meeting with Jen from MENTOR today and an Early Intervention lady, Pam. Looks like we’ll be meeting with Pam once a week. Not really sure why. The suggestions she went over with me were the basic parenting things you would do with a 3 month old. So who knows. Just when I got rid of one weekly appt.(nurse discharged her last week) I get another one.

After that we ran to the store to get cat food, then to Shaws to get groceries for Thanksgiving. Our friends aren’t gonna use our Turkey Fryer after all so Jarod wants to do all again. More power to him :0). Nah, it’ll be good food. We then ran over to JoAnna’s and picked up Boo from his “vacation” and then on to Pamela’s to get a replacement swing. THANKS by the way!! The one we had broke, the motor died yesterday and luckily Pamela had just posted hers on our NAM group message board. So I go that today, thank goodness cause Baby K didn’t nap very well yesterday AT ALL! She finally settled down this evening(we got it this afternoon) and has been down for a much needed long nap :0).

Let’s see what other fun have we had since I posted last…

Saturday I took Preston to a Birthday Party at the local Skating Rink. He had fun. We were there for almost 4 hours… one of the last to leave from the party. It’s a decent rink too.

Sunday I took Preston over to his friend Chandler’s house for the day. He had so much fun! When he got home, at 7:30pm, he laid down on the floor and fell asleep. Kyla on the other hand was sick all day! Some stomach thing, which Preston woke up with at 11:00pm. By then Kyla was feeling better and by 7:00am Preston was feeling better. Still kept him home from school though.

Oh, Sunday night I went out with the girls to a special shopping event at the local mall. It’s an after hours event that benefits charity. I got some Xmas shopping done and had a good time.

Mondays are our designated days at home. Usually because I need to clean up from the weekend and I’m just not a Monday person. After Jarod got home Baby K and I went shopping. I needed to run a couple errands which turned into finishing up my Xmas shopping. The kids are done! Yay!

As for tomorrow, I think I’m gonna clean the house as if we were having people over for Thanksgiving. It will feel nice to have a clean house!

What a night!

Wow, last night was too much fun. I had our Mom’s Night Out – Game Night at the house last night. There were six of us, lots of snacks and drinks. When all was said and done, there were still a few snacks but the drinks were gone!

We had a great game of Pictionary. I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time. We also had a hilarious game or two of Catch Phrase.

I don’t know when people left, I barely remember going to bed. Needless to say, fun night :0).

Now we have a Bday party to go to. Preston’s friend from school and tomorrow he’s going to play with his good friend Chandler… he’s excited :0)

Thief!

So Tuesday our friend Rachael and her kiddos came over. It was good to see them. Preston really enjoyed playing with Adara :0).

Wednesday we headed down to the Museum of Science with JoAnna(and boys) and Jen(and her kiddos). The kids had a blast. We left here at 10 and didn’t get home until 7:30…. long day, but fun :0). Kyla is already asking to go back and Preston actually wanted to go back today.

Oh about the title, thief. I was buying a couple of drinks from the cafe at the Museum of Science and I had parked Kyla in front of the cashier where the candy was(see where this is going?!). Paid for the waters and pushed Kyla over to the preschool area. She started to go in and the guy checking for stamps stopped her so she would wait for me and she freaked out. And in trying to get her to calm down I heard this crackle of paper… in her shirt. I instintaly knew what it was! She had stuffed a candy bar(Reese’s Peanutbutter Cups to be exact) up her shirt. My little 3 year old thief!!!. Needless to say I took her back over to the cashier and had her give the candy back. I talked to her a bit about paying for things and moved on. She was pretty embarrassed. Took a little while but she finally calmed down and went back to enjoying the museum. But seriously, she’s 3!!!

Anyways, we had a playgroup this morning. The kids had fun. It’s nice to be able to let the kids just go and play and not have to follow them around. The play room rocks!!!!!!

2 days

So it seems that I’m on a 2 day posting schedule :0). I’m trying to cut down on my computer time. And am succeeding. It just means less posts to the blog and not as quick a response to emails :0).

Anyways, we made a quick tirp to WIC today to get new checks for Baby K. Then off to get her prescription filled. We then made our way up to our pharmacy where I filled Jarod’s new prescription, blook pressure medicine! Yep, he has high blood pressure. He has to go in for some blood work. But it’s in his genes plus the salt and caffeine don’t help! We’ll see what the work up shows and how his medicine does.

Oh, we’re gonna head down to the Museum of Science tomorrow. Preston’s really excited and so am I. I’ve been wanting to go there but just haven’t made it yet. JoAnna and I split a membership to the science museums so it makes it worth it and I’m sure we’ll get good use out of it :0)!

Nothing much

Not a whole going on. Just doing day-to-day stuff.

Friday the Visiting Nurse came to see Baby K and as long as the DSS guy agrees she is going to discharge Baby K as a patient. She’s confident enough in me and the care I’m providing her that she doesn’t need to come out anymore. Yay, that would be one less appt.

There was also a court hearing for Baby K on Friday, we didn’t go but the attorney called me and told me that we would have her until Dec. 11th for sure but most likely after the 11th too. If we do keep her after the 11th then we would have her anywhere from 3 months to a year depending on paperwork and stuff.

It’s nice to have a time-line!

Preston had Hockey yesterday. He’s doing really well. Starting to glide a lot more. Jarod didn’t even go out on the ice with him :0).

I got my hair cut. It was nice, I haven’t had that done in a while!

Other then that Jarod played his last Soccer game today. They lost so that was it. The made it to the playoffs, so that was good.

This week is pretty quiet, which will be nice. Jen from MENTOR will be here on Tues., Baby K has a visit on Wednesday. Hopefully I can change that so we can go to the Museum of Science… Preston has the day off from school.

Catching up

So we’ve just been playing catch-up around the house the last couple of days.

Yesterday we got free flu shots at Jarod’s work while Baby K had a visit. We stayed and had lunch with Jarod and then headed over to The Westford Toy Shop. I like going in there because they have a lot of different toys that you don’t see in the everyday stores. I picked up some stocking stuffers but will be going back to get an inside trampoline so the kids can have something to jump on beside the furniture!

Oh and that flu shot REALLY hurt my arm. It’s just now feeling better, sore but at least I can raise my arm up!

Today, I’ve been cleaning up the house, it needs it! We had visists from attorneys for Baby K. There is a hearing tomorrow so hopefully then we will figure out what the time frame will be for having her. The giving back part is going to be hard as she is such a good baby!

peace

We’ve been trying to enjoy the peace of not doing much. So far, kinda so good.

Monday after Preston got on the bus I picked up a New Bread Machine I got off of Craigslist for like 30 bucks. It’s brand new, never been used. I have one but have had it for a while and wanted a newer one. Gotta love Craigslist :0).

After that we went over to JoAnna’s and did some Wii Fit while the kiddos played, well sort of. Kyla and Ryan are starting to be more like siblings so they have their moments :0). Did get a decent work-out in though, that was nice!

Oh, we also off-loaded Boo at JoAnna’s for a while. He needed a break from all the hussle and bussle around here. Lots of new people coming and going. Plus it helps me get back on a daily routine with one less in the house. THANKS JoAnna!!!

Today was nice! It was a Holiday for Preston, so no school. After Jen from MENTOR visited we headed out to the Mall. It was hard to just relax and wonder around but I did. I’m so use to having to be here or there or back for this or that that it was really nice not having any “appointments”. After we got home, 4 hours later, we made some bread, jello and dinner. It felt really good! It feels like life is taking shape again. I got the downstairs cleaned up yesterday which has made things easier.

OH, Preston lost another tooth!!! Totally by accident :0). It was the 2 week mark, meaning I needed to call the Dentist because his tooth hadn’t fallen out yet. Well, all of a sudden Preston yells, “MOM”. I guess he had his backpack strap in his mouth and when he pulled it out it got stuck on his tooth and pulled it out! The best part, it wasn’t even wiggling…. or there was no room for it to wiggle because of his HUGE teeth coming in :0). Trust me they’re huge teeth!

Finally, a break :0)

Today was a good day!

We took Preston to Hockey. He’s doing good. Here’s a clip from today(he has the blue helmet on):

After that I went and got a massage, so nice! Then came home for a couple of hours and then back out to a place to paint pottery. It’s one of those places where you pick out the pottery and then paint it. I go back in about a week to pick it up, they have to fire it. I made a dipping dish, or at least that’s what I’m calling it. It was actually really nice and relaxing. I met up with some other friend’s there as it was one of our friends’ Bday. After we finished our pottery painting we headed of for some dinner. It was really nice to get away from the kids and house for a bit. I’m still tired so I didn’t stay out long. It’ll be nice to get to bed at a reasonable time tonight… hopefully. The kids just went to bed so MAYBE they’ll sleep in tomorrow – fingers crossed!!

Busy, busy, busy

Wow, have we been busy this week. With Baby K alone, we had 5 appointments. Then there was Jarod’s Bday, my Mom’s bady, Election day, Preston going to school and gymnastics. Which by the way Kyla tried for the first time, and did awesome! I think we’ll be signing her up.

Baby K had a couple medical appointments all turned out well. She’s doing really well and getting more talkative and lively :0).

Preston’s really enjoying learning at school. He’s always very excited to come home and show me what he did that day :0).

Kyla was beyond excited to try gymnastics for the first time(on her own). She did really well and we’ll be signing her up next week. Hopefully I can get some pictures of them.

I’m tired ;0)! Pretty worn out. By about noon I’m done but we have so much to do, places to be and things to get that I just keep trucking along. Hopefully this weekend will bring some much needed rest… not likely but I can hope :0). On the bright side I am getting a massage tomorrow and am REALLY looking forward to that hour!!!!

Jarod’s fininshing up soccer. His team is donig well this year and will make it into the playoffs… I think. Work is keeping him busy but he was happy to enjoy a good dinner on his Birthday.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that next week will slow down….. we’ll see :0)
