Busy, busy, busy
Yesterday afternoon Jarod and Preston went to a BBQ at one of Jarod’s friend’s house. They had a ton of fun and while they were gone Kyla and I started on the Basement!
9 hours later I finished! I moved all the pantry stuff onto a rack I got at Target. Then I started moving toys into the “new” toy room. With doing that I also started on reorganizing the other half of the basement, the storage area. It took a while but was very gratifying in the end. It looks really good. I got the carpet pieces back into the unfinished part of the basement. Got a shelving unit into the toy room to put buckets of toys on. The kids really seem to enjoy having their own space too!
Jarod’s not too amused that he doesn’t dominate the room anymore but he’ll warm up to it…… hopefully :0).
Today I got all of the excess toys out of the kids’ rooms and the living room. They are now in the toy room. The living room looks a bit bare. But that’s also due to the fact that I took off the curtains, finally. They were here when we moved in.
Since we’ve decided to stay in this house I finally made up my mind to actually make it look like we live here and personalize it a bit. The tile floors made all the difference!
Oh, I also met Allie at the Recreation Center and went over all the Games/Rides for the Pig & Apple Festival this Saturday. She isn’t going to be there so I’m going to be in charge…. holy crap, how do I get myself into these things. Nah, it’s not too much or at least I hope not. Mostly just setting up the games/prizes and making sure the ride guy puts the rides in the right spot. This is a pretty big thing for for the town so hopefully I don’t screw it up :0P.
Wish me luck!

3 years ago we brought home our wonderful(yet crazy) baby girl. She was born on the 27(yes, yesterday) after being a week late….. she is still on her own schedule :0).
We made a last minute decision to head to CoCo’s for the afternoon as Preston’s soccer game was canceled. He did have pictures around noon and then we picked up his friend and headed down to Danvers, MA. We were suppose to go a couple of weeks ago but Preston’s friend came down with the stomach bug the night before, so we were able to go yesterday. The kids had a blast and Kyla was even brave enough to go down a big kid slide! A dark tunnel one to be exact. It twisted and everything, she’s so crazy!
Anyways, here is a look back of 3 years of Kyla:

almost there
So the carpet guys are here, right now! They’re putting down new tack board since whoever installed the original carpet did it wrong……. of course they did! Then the pad and carpet will go back in, yay!! Almost there :0)

Nothing much
Not much going on. Tomorrow the carpet goes back in basement, yay! Then it’s all done, we can start moving toys down there as it is turning into the toy room! Jarod is working on the baseboards and I’m gonna head over to a friends house here in a minute. I think we’re gonna watcha movie and just chill.
Preston still loves school but not necessarily the fact that Kyla gets to spend more time(1-on-1) with me. So we’re or I’m working on that. I’ve set up a new daily schedule and bedtime routine so that he gets his share of my time. We’ll see how it goes.

Today’s the day!
Today is the day that our file goes to the MENTOR corporate office. Well, I should actually say, went to the corporate office since today is almost over with :0).
It seems so real now. Now that our file is done and Wendy took it to the main office to get approved! We could get a phone call next week about a child as long as there is a child in the system that fits our age specifications. WOW! Exciting!
I’ll keep you posted on what happens!

Today Preston turns 6!!
6 years ago he was born after a day of pain :0). He refused to turn over until the last minute causing me to have back labor the whole time – never once had a normal contraction. Now he’s a big boy, in Kindergarten and growing up fast! To reflect here are some photos:

Parrrrtayyy
Today we invaded Chuck E Cheese’s for Preston’s and Kyla’s Birthdays!
First Preston had an 8:00am soccer game and of course he was up at like 6:00am due to his excitement!
After his game and picking up their cake at Costco(yes, I love Costco) we headed up to Manchester to Chuck E Cheese’s.
Preston was beyond excited, as was Kyla. They both had a blast and so did all of their friends. I think we had a total of 11 kids. They enjoyed games, rides, pizza, cake and juice. Preston and Kyla opened their presents, which was crazy, of course! THANKS to all for the wonderful presents!!!!!
Enjoy some photos from the party:
Yes, we had to open EVERYTHING!!! :0)

Wow, a week or two!!!!!!!
So Wendy just left, from MENTOR. She talked to the kids for a bit, I gave her some paperwork and she talked to Jarod. That’s it, we’re done!!!!!!!!!!
Tuesday she’ll send our file to the corporate office to get approved and then we’ll start receiving phone calls. So we’re talking about a week to two weeks, as long as there is a child in the system that fits our age preference.
WOW, I can’t believe we’re done!!!

EcoTarium
We made our way to the EcoTarium yesterday! We went with JoAnna and Lisa, everyone had a blast. The kids absolutely LOVED it and already want to go back!!
They had live animals and interactive science exhibits for the kids. Oh and a train ride, which was of course a big hit!
