Movies and Parking Lots

Last night I went out with the girls, 11 of us, to the movies. We saw Pineapple Express, which was pretty funny. Anyways, we took up a good section of the theatre and were pretty noisy until the movie started… and we got our food. Yeah, Chunky’s serves you food while you watch the movie(for you West Coasters). Anyways, all was good everyone had a great time and then after the movie we wandered into the parking lot and chatted for a long while, which is where the “fun” begins.

So I’m standing there for say 30 minutes or so and all of a sudden my vision starts getting blury and I start feeling dizzy…. I’m gonna pass out, I know it. Then my hearing went fuzzy and I leaned on Misty(thanks for being my rock :0) and the next thing I know I’m sitting on the ground and everyone is sort of freaking out. I get my barings and realize what just happened, yet I don’t know what just happened besides the fact that I just fainted for no apparent reason! So I sit on the ground for a few, get a bit queasy and throw up a tiny bit… yes that was a tiny bit ladies! Still have no idea what happened. Marlene took my pulse and it was fine. I was hot and sweating and the inside of my ears felt like they were on fire. Sooo Marlene ended up driving me home in my car while Alison followed so she could take Marlene back to her car…. thanks guys, what good friends!

I got home, took a shower and laid in bed for a bit, fine the whole time. I did wake up this morning with some lower back/hip pain. Which is lingering down my leg. I think it might be my nerve so I’m pry gonna see the Dr. on Tuesday, especially since I’m soooo uncomfortable sitting, standing or laying down. Walking is fine, we did go to Ikea today but I can’t walk and sleep at the same time.

Lower back/hip issues are not new for me but since I found out my Grandpa has Spinal Stenosis(he just had major surgery last year) and since it’s genetic, I’m a little more aware and cautious of it. I’m young for it but knowing me I’ll be the odd-ball and get it early. Hopefully not!!

Lazy day

We had a lazy day today. It was Preston’s first no school day. I slept in, I needed it. The kids colored and watched cartoons while I slept.

I rearranged the living room yesterday so that there is more room and moved their little table in there. They really like it in the living room. They can color and eat at it, it’s nice.

After getting up I cleaned up the living room, kitchen and dining room. They’ve been neglected for a while now. It felt good to get them clean. Though now by the end of the day, it looks like I did nothing…. the joy of kids :0).

Tonight I get to get out for a bit. A group of us NAMers(Nashua Area Moms) are going to Chunky’s to see Pineapple Express. It’ll be nice to get out of the house for a bit. At least until next weekend when it’s our Mom’s Get Away Weekend at Martha’s Vineyard… can’t wait, 3 days two nights, no kids or husbands… nice. We did this last year and it was soooo much fun. I am very much looking forward to it!

Back to good

So back to normal posting fun stuff!

This morning before school we went to Parlee and picked some Blueberries and fed the goats with JoAnna and her boys. The kids absolutely love picking berries. Preston will pick all day, even if he doesn’t like the berries.

We also bought some strawberries that were at the farmstand… absolutely wonderful. I have to say they are the best strawberries I’ve ever had. Already taste like they were sweetened. So Good!

Our claim has been settled!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m still a little bit in aww. I spoke with Susan this evening around 5:00pm and she settled our claim without even a hiccup…. amazing, especially with all that I’ve delt with.

I literally just printed out my Offer letter from her. Now we just need to get it notarized and fax it back to her.

WOW, that’s it!!

We are perfectly happy with the settlement and I am beyond stoked to get the carpet back in! But first the drywall has to be fixed. But still it will be done and SOON!!

Who knows what caused my claim to get through so fast… basically a 180 since Tuesday. Maybe it was my call to the CEO or my multiple emails yesterday. Either way I am soooooooo glad I don’t have to do this anymore and that our basement will be put back together.

Yay me!

Sedgwick CMS update

So yesterday I emailed Sedgwick CMS asking for a new claims examiner and gave all the reasons why… here’s what I wrote:

I writing to request a new claims examiner or Martha Miranda’s Manager. I just got off the phone with her yesterday and she was very very rude to me. She has failed to inform me on where my claim is, has failed to provide me with any paperwork concerning my claim and has failed to contact me on paperwork needed for my claim. The only way I find out is when I contact her or finally get a call back, and that is only after I call and leave messages for her on a daily basis. After faxing estimates to her, it took a week for me to get a call back and then only for her to inform me that she needed a different type of estimate. If she needed a different estimate why did she not contact me the day she received the fax.

Also, there is a complication with our claim as the technician from Sears stated to her that he left the broken water valve with us, the customers, when in fact he never even showed it to us. I was never once asked if I had this part until Steve Heyn contacted me last week and asked me to send it to him. I was then told by Steve Heyn that our claim was going back to Sedgwick and that Martha Miranda would contact me, she never did. It took 3 or 4 daily messages from me to finally get her on the phone(only after she put me on hold for almost 10 minutes) yesterday. And even then she never told me what was going on, just demanded receipts and had a very very rude attitude.

At this time I am not confident that my claim is being handled properly and would like a new claims examiner.

I also wrote a letter to Steve Heyn with Whirlpool and emailed it yesterday. Mainly asking if he knew of someone else I could speak with because Martha Miranda was not doing her job properly. Here’s what I wrote:

spoke with you last week concerning our broken water valve on our Kenmore washing machine from Sears. I did receive the letter from you stating that our claim with you is closed because of no part.

My question for you is if there is someone else I can speak to besides Martha Miranda at Sedgwick CMS. I had to call her 3 or 4 times(leaving messages every time) after I spoke to you and finally by chance she picked up the phone yesterday and was very very rude to me. She never once explained what was going on and where my claim was, if it had gone back to Sedgwick or was still with Whirlpool. She has yet to send me any paperwork on anything concerning this claim and every time I speak to her(on my dime) she informs me of new estimates they need, the latest being receipts for everything that was damaged.

I have no idea who else to contact at Sedgwick and was hoping you could help me as you have been one of two people that have actually taken the time to talk to me.

WELL, this morning I received a phone call from Sedgwick CMS, it was Martha Miranda’s Supervisor, Susan! She is taking over the case!!! Maybe now we will get somewhere. I wasn’t able to speak with her as I was at Parlee Farm picking blueberries with JoAnna and the kids. I want to be able to focus when I talk to Susan. I have her direct number and called her back this afternoon… had to leave a message, hopefully that isn’t the way it’s going to be. But I do feel better. I feel like I sort of accomplished something…. we’ll see!

First day

Today was the big day. The day that the big yellow bus came and took my child away :0).

the bus

He was soooooooo excited!!! Even Dad worked from home this morning so he could see him off

waiting for the bus

He had absolutely no issues with getting on the bus. Which is nice because I think it’s easier that way. I surprisingly haven’t had any issues either :0).

waiting for the bus 2

I think I was ready for him to go and the school eases you/the child into the whole K process so that everyone is ready for it.

waiting for the bus 3

And yes, I was the Mom holding up traffic to snap a quick photo of my child on the bus ;0)

on the bus

Kyla had a little bit of a rough time seeing Preston go but let me tell you the silence in the house with him at school was absolutely AWESOME!!!! Even Kyla really enjoyed it! She had a great time playing babies while he was at school and I got a good workout in, yay Wii Fit :0)

And to end the first day:
bye bye bus

Oh, I guess I should say he returned safely too! Had a great day and can’t wait to go back tomorrow :0)

CEO

Sooo, I just called and left a message with David A. North, the CEO of Sedgwick CMS. We’ll see how that goes. Whether it’s better or worse after this I don’t know but what I do know is that people shouldn’t be treated the way Martha Miranda treated me on the phone. It’s uncalled for!!

Yeah, can you tell this has stuck with me all day!!!! I’m so annoyed and frusterated and I know I’m not the only one.

I’ll keep ya posted on whether or not he actually calls me back!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I finally got off the phone with Sedgwick CMS. She just happened to answer the phone, only put me on hold for almost 10 minutes. Then when she got on the phone again she had major attitude! I HATE that, I mean all I did was call to see where we were at with the claim!

I asked her where we were at and she demanded we get receipts to her for everything that was damaged on the list…. WHAT?!?! Everytime it’s something new. I was sooo frusterated! I even said I don’t understand why she had an attitude, that really got her going but I finally got her to calm down and get rid of the attitude and be nice.

It really sucks that they do that to you! She didn’t even know why I was calling…. it was my 3rd or 4th phone call though… she had to time to answer the phone and put me on hold but not to call me back last week!!! And wouldn’t you think that if they needed something from me that THEY would call me to get it.

Anyways, not sure how much more I’m gonna be able to take of this stupidity before I call Jimmy, our insurance guy to file a claim OR call a lawyer.

Ridiculous!!

count down

So we’re on the count down. Preston has orientation tomorrow and then gets on the ‘big’ bus Wednesday!

Today we had to go get Bailey from the Kennel. He was a lot calmer then when we’ve picked him up from the other kennel. They did some special stuff with him, like read him a story, took him for walks, had a special bed, playtime and such… I paid for a little package for him. I guess her really enjoyed it, I don’t know :0)

After that we went over to Preston’s school so I could get MY picture taken. They are doing parent badges this year so I figured I’d get one to make life easier so I could drop him off late or pick him up early. Or maybe even volunteer here and there.

He is SOOO excited to go. Especially to ride the bus!

I’ve been pretty calm and nonchalant about the whole thing but I bet it hits me after he gets on the bus. I’m an after the fact type of person.

Home again!

So we’re home. Home from our camping trip at Yogi Bear. It was fun!

We met up with a few other families. Total, there were 12 kids and 11 adults! I think other campers were not amused to see we were all together, especially with 12 kids all under the age of 6. 2 families were in cabins, we had our trailer with JoAnna and boys and 2 other families were in tents. We were on a dead end street so that was nice. It was relaxing as the kids all entertained themselves and everyone helped out with each others kiddos.

The parents had a good time too ;0). It was fun to get away with other adults! It was a good weekend, thanks Misty!!

I’m so tired and will leave you with some photos

Our set-up. Our site wasn’t really made for as big a trailer as we have but since we were part of a group they accommodated us by putting us next to the cabins… we made it work :0)
