Today was a bit busy. We started out with a Playgroup this morning. A few Moms and kids came over and we went swimming and had lunch, it was fun. Preston’s friend Jared came over so he would have a friend his age. They had fun in the pool, eating pizza and playing Wii. After Jared went home we got our stuff together and headed to Westford to meet Joshua’s Bus.
Before I get into picking up Joshua I have to go back to this morning. Debbie, my chairperson called around 11 to inform me that Joshua had a little bit of separation trouble and to just forewarn me about homesickness. When she said hi, I thought my heart was going to stop because I thought she was going to inform me he didn’t show or something. Phew!! Though on the same note she did inform me that my friend JoAnna’s little girl wasn’t at the bus yet :0(. I later talked to JoAnna and her little girl never showed. They are working on trying to get her matched up for a child, hopefully the same little girl to arrive on Monday(another bus is coming in somewhere close).
K, back to Joshua arriving. The bus was estimated to arrive at 3:45/4:00pm but after we got there, about 3:30 they called and the bus was delayed until 5:30 due to traffic. So Jarod went back to work and we hung out for the 2 hours. The kids did really well. We had juice, cookies, popcorn, water and other snacks, so they were pretty well occupied. Plus they had a playground that they spent the first half hour or so on.
When the bus arrived they called the families one at a time to come meet their child, we were the second to last one!! When Debbie called us Preston was SOOOO excited, and so were the rest of us! Joshua came off the bus and like the other FAF kids he was a little disoriented but he very quickly warmed up and told me he had lolly pops for us and asked if we had a basketball hoop(we do). We got him some juice and then got everyone in the car, collected the stuff I brought, ordered some pizza and headed home. Jarod picked the pizza up on the way home and I drove everyone straight home. They got out of the car and immediately started playing basketball, rode bikes and looked around the house. We soon ate some dinner and then they all went out to the backyard and played on the swing set, the teater totter and ran around.
After they settled down, Joshua called his Mom and then the boys went upstairs and played cars in Preston’s room. Then we all played Wii Mario Kart to end the night.
Everyone is doing really well and they are SOOO excited to go swimming tomorrow!
We finally got everyone(including Kyla) to sleep between 9:30 and 10:00pm!!
