We had a fun day today! We met our friend JoAnna and her two boys at the library. The kids had a blast running around doing puzzles and looking at books, but I think the favorite area was the reading room or block room I should say. Our library has a separate section for story time and there are also huge soft blocks, foam letter puzzles, puppets and leggos in there, they love it! The librarian is great and really enjoys the kids’ “enthusiasm” :0)! We got a ton of books, mainly to keep them busy while we are on the road to the beach. Preston’s still really into Lava, so he cleared out that section and Kyla got a few horse books. JoAnna and I are teaming up and doing some reading together on a subject that interests us both. Right now we are starting with Tarot Cards. So I’ll let you know how we do with that :0)! But we have other books on our list that have to do with the elements and energy. I’m really excited to do this as I have a great interest in these subjects and it’s great to find someone else who does too. So we have to go through our books that we already have and see which ones we want to re-read or read for the first time… I have a few :0).
After the library we headed home for lunch and then to Preston’s friend J_’s house. We had to take back their dehumidifier so we let the boys play for a while… 3 hours :0). They went swimming, played on the trampoline, had popsicles and cookies. A good day I say. Preston now wants lots of sisters, J_ has 3 sisters. Little does Preston know that he will have a “brother” or “sister” soon. Plus he is SOOO excited for J_ from NY to come, 10 days! All-in-all he had a great time and if I’ve gotten everything ready for Thurs. J_ is going to come over tomorrow afternoon. It’s so awesome that he lives so close!
Oh, on to the bruiser part. So Kyla was with us at J_’s house, having fun and trying to be a “big kid”. She didn’t go swimming but she put her feet in, played on the swing set, in the little house, pushed a baby doll around, drove the cozy coupe and managed to get herself onto the trampoline, yes the trampoline, did you all just gasp with fear on what is going to come next :0)! Well she got up there a few times didn’t do much and got back down, with my assistance and I was right there. BUT of course the one time I wasn’t right there, she fell off onto her face. That sounded bad! Actually just her brow bone. She’s got a nice bruise and lump. She’s gonna have a grade A shiner tomorrow… I’ll take a picture then and post it for my Mom of the Year Award ;0P!
She’s really doing fine though. I think the bug bite on her foot is bothering her more. Yep she’s swelling up like Preston. Really gotta figure out what is biting them! For now Benadryl… and Motrin for the eye!
