Training is done

We finished our training tonight! Yay!

We had CPR/1st Aid tonight and are now done. Jarod hung in there as he was just diagnosed with an inner and outer ear infection along with high blood pressure. He has to go back in two weeks and recheck his blood pressure. This is not our month!!!!!!

Wendy will contact me next week and we’ll set up appointments for interviews and make sure I’ve gotten all the paperwork in. She does have to do some research to see if we’ll need to get a background check from WA. We’ve only been in MA a little over 2 years so I can understand why. I’m already on file in WA because of teaching so hopefully that makes it easier.

OH, when we showed up for CPR tonight we all had to wait a bit because they were having a meeting in the conference room. I had to run back down to get some papers I forgot in the car and on my way back I passed a Mom, son and a placement child in the hallway. He was a teenager and she was introducing her son to him. As they passed I realized what was going on and turned my head to take note and it was so sad to see him walking with his “new family” going to his “new home” and all he had was a small clear trash bag with maybe a change of clothes in it, that’s it! It’s heartbreaking to see these poor kids leaving what they know with nothing from what they knew except their memories. How HARD and SCARY!!

There were also two more little boys(placements) that were there with their Foster Mom, she was in the CPR class. Not sure if they were new placements or not but they were young, brothers that were under 4. Too cute but very connected with their Foster Mom, that was heart warming!

Kyla and I are enjoying our us time while Preston’s at Camp. Oh he had a field trip to the Buterfly Place today with his class. He’s enjoyed camp so far.

Kyla liked picking strawberries. Actually she just liked walking thru the fields. I did most the picking but she did help now and then.

Tomorrow we are having a Pool Party. It’s suppose to be warm, low 90’s so it should be a good day. Now I just have to get the ladder fixed so it won’t ruin the patches or make more holes in the liner!

Network

Can I just say how glad/lucky I am to have such a great network of friends!!

Not only were we able to get our carpets taken care of within a couple of hours but within minutes of posting a message on the boards of my Moms’ Group I had roughly 3 or so offers to use their dehumidifiers. Plus I called my friend around the corner and borrowed one from them too. So we have 3 dehumidifiers going downstairs plus the fans that the carpet guy left. I picked two of them up last night and one was graciously dropped off at our house this morning. A great big THANKS to all!!!!!!!!!

Here is a photo of the water as I stepped on the carpet:

Everything is drying out downstairs and the moisture in the air is going away, yay! I didn’t have to spend the day on the phone, tomorrow.

Oh, I also didn’t have to fill up the pool this morning, score! For now it’s holding and I vacuumed it up. Lots of sedement due to filling it up everyday. Our well was not happy but it cooperated! I’m SO glad that is over…. for now :0).

On another note we have CPR training this evening, so at least we’ll get a break from the house for a bit :0).

And a fun photo, well sort of. Kyla’s first drawing on the computer :0)

aha!

I was just reading over my post from yesterday and caught that the technician that was here yesterday(and today) cleaned out the part that lets the water in!!!!!! This I believe is the same part that got stuck or disconnected or whatever!! More fuel for the fire! Glad I have Mark’s number! Tomorrow here I come, oh wait, today here I come!

Seriously bed, I’m outta here.
