Playgroup

We went to our first playgroup today in like 3 weeks. It was really nice to get out and see everyone and the kids had fun too!

We went over to JoAnna’s house and played with her toys outside. We even packed a lunch and ate there. It was SO nice to not be in a hurry and enjoy our time with friends! After we left JoAnna’s we headed over to the library, we had to return some Leap Frog movies. The kids really like those movies! Preston picked out a couple of books and Kyla enjoyed playing in the “kid room”. The library is one of our newest favorite places. Where else can you go and spend as much time as you want and leave with books/movies/CD’s, for free?! Love it! Plus it’s close to the house so the driving factor doesn’t get in the way. I’m really watching where we go since gas is so high and we’ve had the extra driving for MAPP and having to pay a babysitter. I think maybe we’ll head over and check out the elementary school playground, it’s a mile or two from here and it’s fairly new, so hopefully it’s a good one :0).

As for our projects:

The pool - looks great but there is a hole in the liner - having a pool company come out next week to find the hole and patch it. They use a probe and headphones to listen for the leak. I don’t know! She did say they can find a pin hole though!

Swing Set - just need to attch the monkey bars

Floor - still working on the grout and sealing but it looks and “feels” SO much better. I actually like my house now. Not that I didn’t like it before but I think I tolerated it more and now I actually LIKE it! It’s a good feeling :0)!

I also got up two fences - one to block off the solar heater and one to block off the back yard from the front yard. It looks good and as soon as I can get Jarod to fix the size issue with the pictures I’ll upload them!

Wow, done!

So today was one of those days, sort of. Our babysitter got the stomach bug and wasn’t able to sit tonight. I made like 10 phone calls and EVERYONE had something else tonight. Therefore Jarod stayed home and missed MAPP Training. Which actually was okay, we are allowed to miss one and plus he’s the co-mentor, so he’s not as important as I am ;0).

Anyways, we’re done. Yes, done! We finished like 3 chapters tonight and watched a fire safety video. Now all we have to do is CPR training next week. Wendy said she liked to finish it up early and she wasn’t kidding!

As for where we go from here, Wendy will look over my paperwork and start making appointments for interviews, starting with the kiddos :0). It’s all very exciting and nerve wracking at the same time.

I’m also reading a book, yes a book, about tools for Foster Parents. I like it! I actually might buy it to have on hand. The one I have is from the library. I also have the big huge binder to go through that we got from our training.

One step closer :0)
