First Night

Tonight was our first night of MAPP training at MENTOR. We got there on time and STARVING! Luckily they ordered pizza for dinner… awesome!!

There were a lot more people then I thought, at least 13. It was a good introduction and good info, especially about discipline. Just a eye opener about how what you normally do with your own kids won’t work with Foster Kids because they need the opposite… good point!

We did finish up early which was nice. Since this was just the introduction night it will be neat to see if everyone returns Thursday. We will!

what a day

Today! Wow, we were busy, well, I was busy. Cleaning! I cleaned the kitchen, upstairs, the bathroom, the appliances and mowed the lawn. Oh, and took C.J. to the vet! Then we had our first MAPP training.

It feels so good to have a clean house, especially with the floors all messed up, though almost done! Clutter makes me anxious, so I try to watch that. Plus the babysitter was coming this afternoon and I didn’t want her to walk into all the chaos :0). At least she understands since her parents are redoing their bathrooms.

Anyways, Preston loves the new babysitter, he told me so! She said the kids were good for her, which is a relief since she’s the youngest babysitter we’ve ever had. But there are no diapers to deal with or any “baby” stuff and she lives around the corner from us so if she needed any sort of help she could call her Mom :0). They are a great family!

Monday

Let’s see, Kyla and I wondered around town while Preston was in school. It was really nice to just have her, she’s much better when Preston’s not around. No fighting or temptation to get out of the cart :0). We got some more adhesive for the tile, some wood screws for the swing set and some fence type stuff to block off the kids/dogs from the solar heater for the pool. Then we hit the ever so famous Costco :0).

Oh, the putty held on the pool skimmer. So I got that going today, hopefully the water clears up here in the next couple of days. I put enough shock in it to kill anything :0)! Then I got the fence up(partially) around the solar heater. It’s just a mesh type fencing thats like 3 feet tall, okay maybe 4 feet. I stapled it to the shed and zip-tied it to the poles…. my way of a quick, cheap fix :0). So far it’s working, all that matters!

Jarod got some more tile down tonight. So he pry will get some cutting done on Wednesday. We have MAPP training tomorrow evening. OH, and I have my first Tyngsboro Recreation Committee Meeting Wednesday night. YEP, I’m on the committee, weird, I know. But I was annoyed about how they don’t have much affordable activities in the town for the under 5 crowd so I decided to stop complaining/being frustrated and be a part of the solution :0). We’ll see how it goes. The communication, via email, is already annoying me, just disorganized and no explanation to what’s going on. Hopefully it gets better after the meeting but if not I don’t know if I can handle it. I do a lot of communication via email with being an organizer of my Moms’ Group and the Committee’s communication is just poorly done. We’ll see, I’ll let you know how it goes!
