3 day project - haha

SO, we are no where near done, haha…. high hopes. The kitchen is completely tiled, now we just need to actually adhere it to the floor, then grout and seal. Then that will leave the bathroom and entryway, which has a bunch more cutting to do, hopefully by the end of next weekend…..

While Jarod cut tile today I took the kids to one of Preston’s friend’s Bday party. They had so much fun. It was at Jump-On-In in Nashua. It’s one of those indoor bouncy house places. There were a couple of kids from Preston’s class and a bunch of A_’s friends from outside of school. Everyone had a really good time!

keep on truckin’

So today was slow going, sort of.

We ripped up the carpet today, well Jarod did and we had to lay another layer of sub-floor underneath so that the tile will run flush into the kitchen. He did an awesome job, it looks great! Right now he’s finishing ripping up the bathroom floor. We already got the toilet out. It looks awesome sitting on our deck. I told him that we should get more and make them our patio furniture, which then led into a conversation about turning the toilet in to a keg and it dispersed when you flushed it…. one of Jarod’s creative moments :0).

Anyways, we have the tile all laid out and it already looks AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! Tomorrow is going to be a big day as we will be actually laying the tile or I guess I will be laying the tile… little nervous, I don’t want to mess it up! While I’m doing that Jarod will be cutting the 60 something tiles that need to be cut. Oh for anyone interested we’re laying somewhere around 230 square feet of tile!!

Oh yeah, we did get out and work on the swing set this afternoon. Some friends were gonna come up and help but due to a scheduling mix up they couldn’t, maybe next weekend… no worries Jessie! We got the slide on and the side rails for the climbing area. Now we just have to put the swing extension and monkey bar extension on.

All-in-all a busy day. Jarod’s been working his butt off so BIG props to him… he knows how much this floor means to me! Love ya Babe!! :0)

Weekend Warriors, haha

So we started ripping up the floors last night… only to find another floor under it. Yep, the original 1970’s awesome linoleum floor is still there, perfectly intact!

So today Jarod spent a good part of the day ripping up the second floor, the top one. So as of right now we do have a “new” floor, it’s just really old :0)! We had to rip up the top layer so that the tile would run flush with the dining room floor, which is hardwood(or laminate).

I’d post some photos but Jarod updated my iPhoto and for some reason I can’t upload photos at the moment…. I will as soon as I can!

OH, today while Jarod was ripping up the floors the kids and I headed over to our friend Alison’s house for our Moms’ Group’s 2nd aniversary party. Yep, our Moms’ Group has been around for two years now. We have 40 members, with at least 80 kids. It’s a great group of women(and kids) who get a long great and have an awesome time. Alison and her sister started the group 2 years ago and I started assisting her in organizing it shortly after. We now have a total of 6 organizers and our calendar is usually full at least 2 months in advanced. There is always plenty to do to keep everyone happy and busy!! It’s a great thing, thanks ladies!! And THANKS for our gift cards, that was really sweet. Oh, and a great presentation from Misty(recognize :0) for the gifts.

Boston accent

Our son is gonna have a Boston accent, I’m accepting that!

While playing Mario Kart Wii he was racing on a new track and declared the track was wicked crazy or something of that nature. All I know is that he said wicked and it’s not the first time! Oh and he’s already been dropping his R’s!

cold season, enough already!

So I’m finally feeling better, not 100% but better.

Anyways, CoCo’s… We headed out Monday morning around 10 to get to the waterpark by 11, opening time and we made it. We were soon joined by 3 other Mom’s from my Moms’ group. Everyone had a great time even though it took Kyla about 1-2 hours to warm up to the place. :0) Preston is only a 1/2 an inch to short to go on the biggest slides there, maybe in a couple of months. Oh, we even got Kyla to go down the little kid slides! Preston said his favorite was the pool, I think because he’s been begging to go in our pool for the past two months… hopefully soon! Jarod and I had a lot of fun too.

It was nice to be able to have a fun family day, especially with all the work we’ve been doing on the swing set. Hopefully we can work on that this evening.

Sorry I don’t have any pictures from our trip, it’s just to hard to take a camera to a waterpark, ya know.

matched!!!

So we got the call this morning!! We have been matched with a family from NY through the Fresh Air Fund! It’s very exciting, especially since we didn’t expect to be matched this early. Our Chairperson, Debbie said this is the earliest that they’ve ever gotten matches… I’ll take it.

We’ll be hosting a little boy that is a few months older then Preston. It should work out really well! Preston’s SO excited, as are the rest of us. Well, not sure about Kyla but at 2.5 who knows what she’s thinking :0)!

my turn

So I have the sick bug now! No throwing up just body aches and my tummy is in knots. Hopefully it’s over by morning.

If I’m feeling better tomorrow I’ll update the blog with our trip to CoCo’s.

phew

Let’s see, we got some work done this weekend :0).

Yesterday Preston had soccer, I didn’t go cause Kyla came down with whatever Preston had at 3:30am Saturday morning. He and Dad had a good time at soccer and lunch. I on the other hand took care of a puking feverish child. She threw up a lot more then Preston.

We did make it over to Tim’s house to work on the swing set. Kyla laid on a blanket and watched us work. Luckily Tim was there and helped take apart most of the swing set. We got a lot done. That evening, well actually night Kyla couldn’t sleep so she was up with us until like midnight. On the bright side her fever finally broke but on the downside she didn’t sleep in!

Today we got up and went outside. Dad had a baseball game, they won. We trimmed the trees back where the swing set is and then came back inside and had lunch. Dad got home. He then ran up to our friend Debbie’s house and borrowed their truck, thanks Debbie and Tom!! He got back and Michael came over and we all went over to Tim’s house and loaded up what was left and got it all to our house. Thanks Michael!! Though we did have a delay due to Jarod locking the keys in the truck and us having to drive back to Debbie’s to get the spare keys and all. But we did get it all done, we even got the landscaping timbers to outline where the swing set is, Tim gave those to us too! Thanks Tim!!!!!!

Now we just have to put it back together. Yeah we didn’t get that far. It started raining and we have some broken screws that need to be pulled out. Jarod had to make a Home Depot stop on the way back from dropping off the truck to get a special drill bit that will take out the broken screws. Hopefully we will get it together either tomorrow afternoon or during the evenings this week. Preston can’t wait!!

OH, while Jarod was at Home Depot he picked up the tile to do our kitchen, downstairs bathroom and entry way floors! I am SO excited!!!! We’ll take pictures to keep you up on that awesome project :0)! It starts on Friday!

And as soon as we get the Swing Set done we’ll get photos of that too!

Now off to clean up the house and get packed to go to CoCo’s tomorrow!

what a day!

Today was Preston’s school’s big field trip to Davis’ Farmland. After we dropped him off at school we headed on down since we knew we most likely have to make a potty break… actually it was a coffee break for Dad! *picture above - Albino Peacock

The day was gloomy but nice. Because of this the water area wasn’t open but the kids had fun anyways. Though most of what Preston wanted to do we could’ve done at a park! He really had no interest in the animals, just wanted to play on the playgrounds and ride the bikes they had.

p1060090.jpg

Kyla on the other hand had to do, see and touch EVERYTHING! She even milked a goat. I think besides the bikes, Preston’s favorite was painting his face, oh and the baby goats!

And yes, Mom and Dad had fun too :0)

There are plenty more photos and I’ll get them on the photo page here soon… along with March and April!

busy day

After taking a couple of days “off” we got up this morning and headed out. We ran by the pharmacy to get my medicine, then by Sears to return a bathing suit and then on to our favorite store Costco! We loaded up on goodies and drinks and then headed home. Luckily I got 99% of everything put away before Wendy from MENTOR showed up :0). After our visit with her, see previous post for details, we played outside for awhile. Preston worked on roller blading and more bike riding without training wheels, he’s doing better. We then loaded up everyone including the dog, well on of the dogs and took him to the Vet for his yearly visit and shots. Poor Boo was SO nervous but the did good. He has gained 5 pounds, so now he’s 70 pounds… doggie weight watchers here we come :0P. All-in-all he’s in good shape, his hips are still holding out and he’s as “strong as an ox”, the Vet’s words :0). C.J.’s visit is next month, he’s pry up to 20 pounds… fatties! Anyways, we got back home and played outside some more and then came and got some food.

We have a big weekend. Tomorrow we are heading down to Davis’ Farmland with Preston’s school, even Dad is going :0). Hopefully it doesn’t rain! Then we will return home to work on finishing up the Swing Set site, we’re almost done. Then Saturday Preston’s got a Soccer game, we’ll work on the yard more and then head over to a friend’s house with Preston for a mock slumber party and then back home. Sunday is the big day, we go and get the Swing Set. Luckily we are borrowing a friend’s truck so we won’t have to take it apart all the way and we may even have an extra hand or two… hopefully!!
