games

So Preston has decided to teach Kyla how to play every Board Game we have! They started out with Ker-plunk last night and this morning he taught her how to play Sorry! Her favorites so far are Candy Land, Buckaroo and a Leap Frog card game. She gets the gist of most of them but really doesn’t like waiting her turn or only doing/taking one thing at a time. But she LOVES the games!!

We also had another playgroup at the house today. Yes, we are on a roll with playgroups, it saves gas, which in turn saves money :0)! The kids had fun but we are certainly looking forward to outdoor playgroups!!

oh yeah

I forgot we were suppose to go for a walk Friday morning but it rained so we had a playgroup at our house. The kids had fun and Kyla attempted to hide the toys from everyone:

Also, I can’t remember if you can tell in the other pictures but Preston LOVES stamps and I woke up Thursday morning to see that he stamped to frog stamps on both of his temples and on address stamp on his forehead :0). At least he would get sent home BUT it wouldn’t have been our home it would have been Grandma and Grandpa Perigo’s home in CA. Yes, he stamped his forehead with my old address stamp from when I was younger! Anyways, he went to school on Friday and decided he was going to write his name on his forehead!! He got as far as the P and the teacahers convinced him that was good enough :0)…. gotta love him!

pretty easy

So we had our Home Visit yesterday for the Fresh Air Fund

It was quite simple. They got here around 10:00am, we sat down and discussed the program, we showed them where the child would be sleeping and then they met the dogs. That was about it.

She has to submit our background checks and our paperwork to the office in NY and it goes from there. So we just have to wait until we get the OK from NY and then we get matched with a child. From that point we will contact the family and go from there.

It’s kind of exciting and Preston can’t wait!! I’ll keep you posted!

Besides that we hung out at home, Jarod had baseball this morning and the kids and I had a lazy morning. We’ve got another Playgroup on Monday, so that will be fun and a few other things planned.

sunshine

Yay, sunshine. We made our way outside yesterday and today. We even had a playgroup today at our house and everyone got to go outside and play. We’re even almost at a point where we can get into the backyard… soon!

Oh Kyla water painted for the first time yesterday. She really liked it and created three different paintings :0).

Other then that we are just doing some cleaning getting our house ready for our Home Visit for the Fresh Air Fund on Saturday. We are looking to host a child from NY. These are inner city kids that usually spend all of the summer indoors. The Fresh Air Fund offers the families a free vacation for the kids, that’s where we come in. We offer to host a child for a week or two. We have to go through background checks and references checks. And also a Home Visit, which is Sat. Hopefully it all goes well and we’ll be having a little boy visit with us. Preston will be soooo excited!!

jump, jump, jump around

p1050250.jpg

We got ourselves up early this morning and made our way to BounceU up in NH for a fun morning. It’s one of those indoor air blown bouncy things…. same place as the Birthday party on Sat. Except this time I got to bring Kyla along, she LOVED it!!!

We met some other Mom’s there and the kids had a blast running around on all the inflatables. Preston is such a good helper when it comes to Kyla. He likes helping her do new things and once she gets the hang of it, off she goes. By the end of our 2 hour session she had gotten the hang of everything, all the climbing structures and slides, she was so sweaty after the first hour.

After the 2 hours we all headed down the street to a Bagel Cafe and had lunch. The kids were sooo good! Everyone had sandwiches and bagels. Oh and all the kids had yogurt, well except Preston, he was too excited about his “donut”, yeah he’s a weirdo… bagel, donut, whatever!

We then made our way home and kicked back for the rest of the afternoon. Kyla and I did make some yummy chocolate and white chip cookies :0). She was very proud to have helped!!
