phew, glad that’s done!

We did soo soo much outside this weekend!

Our backyard was covered in leaves because it snowed before we had a chance to get them cleaned up. And I mean COVERED in leaves! So that was my main focus this weekend and I did accomplish it! While I tackled the leaves, Jarod put up some lattice under part of the deck to help keep the kiddos in the backyard. We got all the toys out, including the water table and sprinkler. We even got the screen house set up so we can have extra shade and a bug guard :0). The backyard looks awesome!!

The kids had a blast playing out there all day, both days! Oh, I also got one of those mesh type Garden Fences to block off the backyard so the kids can’t go running up to the front yard and potentially into the road! Now we just need to get a dog area up and we’ll be all set! The dogs had a blast outside today too. C.J. was all over the place while Bailey just laid around in the shade, he’s old and lazy :0).

the kick off

So today was the kick off to Preston’s soccer season. He was so excited he couldn’t contain himself. He’s a Leopard and plays in the town league. We showed up this morning to find out his coach is a Mom of one of his classmates, that was nice. Also one of his teammates is a cousin of another classmate :0).

He had so much fun and scored 3 goals, though we weren’t suppose to keep score… Preston sure did, everything is a competition right now!!

Enjoy some photos from this morning:

more research

So we are still researching the option of either adopting through the Foster Care System or being actual Foster Care Parents!

We are planning on attending an informational meeting in June to decide if this is the path we want to take or hold off and wait around for Haiti to straighten things up. Financially speaking the Foster Care options are much more up our alley. Adopting is really expensive and when there is such a great need for loving families right here in our own backyard it’s hard to keep pursuing another country.

I really think we will end up being Foster Parents towards the end of the Summer, as long as we qualify :0). I have a friend who use to work for Dare Family Services and Mentor who is answering my question and giving well needed information and advise, thanks Alison!!

Like I said we still have some learning to do to make the right decision that is best for our family and we are getting there :0).

so nice

It is so nice outside! We made our way over to a friend’s house for a playgroup outside in the wonderful sunshine. The kids had a blast playing the water table and on the swing set. Preston can not wait to get our swing set. I am so dreading that day. Having to take it apart and put it back together, not fun. I might look into having someone do it for us but paying the money for that isn’t fun either, so we’ll see!

I think it was like 75 on the way to taking Preston to school, maybe we’ll end up opening the pool sooner then later. He can’t wait for that either!!! But our focus right now is getting the backyard all cleaned up and ready for the swing set. Though we may have a free weekend, Mother’s Day weekend and open the pool then. Who knows! Oh and then for Memorial Day weekend, we usually go camping but this year we are tiling our Kitchen, Entryway and Downstairs Bathroom floors. It’s gonna looks SO good!! It’s gonna be some work but well worth it!

not a whole lot

We’ve been outside enjoying the sunshine!!!

The kids have been riding bikes and playing soccer. Today we actually planted some seeds, hopefully they grow into flowers, we’ll see :0). We also went to the dentist today, well Preston did. He was awesome! I took Kyla so she could watch, she’ll go in 6 months for the first time, hopefully that goes well.

We had to go to the pharmacy to get some fluoride medicine for the kids, they had NO patience waiting the 10 minutes to get the meds!! Horrible! Plus I had a headache and was tired. We then made a quick detour to McDonalds for some well needed chicken nuggets and then on to Costco, our favorite store :0). After that fun we headed home and played outside some more and then made another awesome meal from Let’s Dish.  A couple of friends and I went to Let’s Dish last night and made some more great meals. My freezer is packed!!! I made a whoppin 12, which means we actually have 24 since I split all of them. Awesome!

This morning

And the last post for now.

This morning we headed up for our first trip to see the Clydesdale’s. We met some friends up there and even though it was breezy everyone had a good time!

Busy Weekend

Alright on to the second post about the weekend:

Since we are going to be staying in this house a bit longer(the housing market sucks if you want to sell!) we are working on de-cluttering the house. I cleaned up the basement and gave away/donated a bunch of stuff. Got all the art stuff out of the kitchen and on the shelves in the basement. I am working really hard on retraining myself to put things away in their spots instead of just tossing it on the counter. Now if I can get Jarod to do this too then we’ll be in business :0)!

Saturday was a really nice day, 70’s I think. We swept the leaves out of the front yard and did a bunch of raking. It looks really good. Oh, then we took a brake and went to Pizza Hut, Preston got his first Book It coupon of the year. Pizza Hut is his favorite - personal pan cheese pizza with NO sauce! After our late lunch we headed over to a sports store and picked up Preston some Soccer cleats. They are super fast shoes according to him ;0)!! So after we got home he had to play soccer for a while.

As for Sunday, Jarod had baseball and I continued working on the inside of the house until he got home….. and after his nap :0). Then we moved the trailer out of the backyard and onto the driveway. Now we just need to get the backyard swept so we can get the Swing Set. YES! We are getting a swing set. A neighbor and one of Jarod’s bosses is acutally giving us theirs. Payment is, us coming and getting it. Yep, we have to go and take it apart, woo fun… not!! Then we have to put it back together here. Hopefully we can round up some willing helpers :0)!

That about wraps up our weekend!

a little behind

So I need to catch up today. I need to post about Friday, this weekend and today. I think I’ll post them all seperate and start with Friday, so here goes:

Friday morning we headed down the road to the Butterfly Place with the Mom’s Group. The kids loved it! We saw all kinds of butterflies and caterpillars. Oh, and a giant moth too!

no more

Woohoo, Preston had is last, yes last, visit to the Dermatologist today. YES, his bumps are gone!!! He was sooo excited, as was I. He still needs to do a couple more weeks of his medicine but that’s it. Yay!

Before we made our way to the Derm’s office we went over to Preston’s friend C_’s house. He’s been dying to have a playdate with her and we finally did :0). They had a fun time playing inside and out. The weather was beautiful today, 70 degrees I think. They rode bikes, drove a PowerWheels jeep and jumped rope and so did Kyla :0). We then went for a walk in the woods, it’s part of C_’s parents’ property. They’ve made a little trail through it for their ATV’s. It was fun, the kids walked on logs and played in the puddles. We even had to flick off some ticks, yuck!! Yep, they are out already! And I guess I’ve gotten use to them, almost. I still feel like they are crawling all over me but at least I don’t think I would completely freak out if one was attached to me… well, okay I probably will ;0). All-in-all everyone had a great time.

OH on our way back from the Derm’s office Kyla threw up all over her car seat. I think she’s getting car sick. I say this because we got home the other day and she seemed alittle sickly and then after we got settled and she sat on the couch a bit she was fine. And today after I got her home, stripped her clothes off in the driveway and washed her hair she was fine. Then I had to completely take the car seat apart and wash it. At least I figured out how to take the base off. So that’s going to be fun if she is getting car sick, though it might also have to do with watching TV in the car. I got that hooked up again and they were watching something, so maybe that was it. Guess I’ll have to do some “testing”. Just kidding :0).

we finally made it

So we finally made it over to Preston’s friend’s house, J_. Preston had a blast and even had lunch with him. We probably could’ve spent the day there but they had to go to the airport and we had things to do. But at least we finally got over there and hopefully will get totgether again!

After that we headed down to the Mass RMV, yeah fun! Luckily we only waited for like 5 minutes only to find out I needed to go the insurance office first, I was told opposite when I called…. of course. So we drove back to the insurance office and visited with Jimmy, our agent, for a bit and then drove back down to the RMV. It’s only about a 15 minute drive and we didn’t have to wait in line this time, just went up to the lady’s counter. Got our tags, for the trailer, they expired in November, yeah, a little late. I originally paid them online and didn’t pay attention to the confirmation email, it said Failed because we needed the insurance stamp. It was like a month or so before I noticed we hadn’t gotten the tags so after looking up the email I noticed the Failed part, whoops! So then I got it all put in an envelope to take to Jimmy to get stamped and LOST it, check and all. No clue where it’s at. Luckily there’s no late fee for tags!!

After that fun we hung out at home the rest of the afternoon/evening.

Today we aren’t doing much. We made a huge fort in the living room this morning and then watched a new movie but other then that, not much!

Oh, Preston’s bumps are MUCH MUCH better. All of the ones that got treated are pretty much healed up and he only has 3 new ones and two of them are dying! This is soooo great since his last breakout was about 20-30 bumps. Whether it’s the new medicine or his body and decided to fight it off, I really don’t care. I’m just glad they are dying and there are no new breakouts!! We do have a Dermatologist appt. tomorrow so we’ll see what they say.
