just like dad

I feel the pain for my parents now…. Our car rides lately, “Mom I can count to 100, 1, 2, 3….100, 101, 102….”. I vagely remember doing this to my own parents. At first it’s awesome knowing he can count so far and that he grasps the concept of counting after he reaches 100 but wow, 100 is a long time :0)! I love him anyways!!

Preston is really good with number, just like his Dad! We were stuck at a train yesterday and Preston is talking about this and that while the train is passing. Then says he doesn’t like this train because it’s too long. Finally the train passes and we start to move on…”That was a long train, it had 86 boxes” says Preston. I’m like, “You counted all of those?”, he replies, “Yeah”. I’m thinking how the heck did he keep track counting all those boxcars and talking at the same time… I couldn’t keep track if I was alone in the car and writing it down!!

He’s always done a lot of number work in his head, just like his dad… addition and subtraction. It’s really neat, I still don’t know how Jarod does it.

It’s amazing how their little minds work!!

finally

So we finally got to play outside yesterday!! It was nice and Sunny and the snow/ice on the driveway was melting so I worked on that with some help from Preston while Kyla rode her bike and wondered around. Preston then joined her and they had a blast outside for the first time since November!

Tonight I’m hosting Game Night at my house so I’ve been cleaning in-between keeping the peace between Kyla and the little boy I babysit. They’ve been having it out this week hopefully it passes and we’ll be back to the norm next week… oh wait, this is the norm :0)!

OH, so we got Jarod’s car on Wednesday. Yes, they had to keep it over night… there was something else wrong with it. Even though it cost a small fortune to get fixed Jarod is really happy with how it is running… like a new car!! YES, we will be taking better care of it from now on! Don’t worry my car is fine we had it serviced before we hooked it up to the trailer.

We also had gymnastics yesterday. Both kids did great! Kyla finally decided to participate in almost everything :0). She’s doing really good and enjoys it. Preston loves it! Oh, I also got him signed up for spring Soccer, he’s soooooo excited. He hasn’t played in a while and is very much looking forward to it.

After gymnastics we had to go to the dermatologist. Preston has some bumps that he got his first treatment for. Luckily he cooperated. Last time we went the Dr. barely got a glimpse of them. So we had to do a home treatment and he HATED it so he was ready to cooperate this time. He got a little scared when she was ready to put the cream on them but overall did awesome. He now has some yucky spots on him, some have turned into blisters but she said they might do that. This was his first treatment, only his left arm, next time we have to do a different section and so on until we get them all…. fun, fun!!

We also started doing more pages out of his Preschool books that I have had but he really didn’t have much interest in them. Then after reading a friends blog thought, oh yeah, I have those books. He’s loving them!! We do pages beyond pages at a time. It’s really nice to see him interested in all of this especially since we have Kindergarten Registration next week.

While we work on his books, Kyla has entered the world of coloring. She colors about 4 different times a day. I’m thinking I might have to get more coloring books. I only have a few since Preston was never really into coloring but that seems to be changing too, he’s been coloring more lately.
