what a weekend!

We had a busy busy weekend!

First Jarod’s Dad/the kids’ Grandpa Wilson arrived Friday evening. We haven’t seen him since before we moved out here - so 2 years. The kids were very excited to see him and play games and such and I think he tolerated the noise well ;0).

On Saturday my Mom’s group had our first ever Winter Carnival(not sure we’ll do it again but likely). We had it a local community center and invited other local Mom’s groups to attend. This helped keep the carnival calm but still allowed us to make a small profit. We had fun games for the kids, crafts and a mock sleigh ride. All in all the kids had a great time and that’s what it’s all about!

Then Sunday Dad, Preston, Grandpa Wilson and I went snow tubing at the local ski area. It was a blast and WAY faster then I thought it would be. The first time down was like a roller coaster ride - except on a roller coaster your belted in!!!!! At times it was scary but fun. Preston loved it but he has no fear! We’ll definitely do it again!

As for Monday, we hung around the house played a little Wii had some lunch and got Grandpa W. to the airport. It was a fun but busy weekend!!

quote of the day

So my favorite Kyla phrase right now is:

“mine do it” - translation - I do it

oh big brothers

So Preston decided he was going to potty train sister, “because she’s a big girl now”. Where he got this idea, I have no clue but figured it might work… you never know with Kyla.

To start off, Preston decided Kyla could wear his size 3 underwear, which he informed me of. The next thing I know, he had gotten her diaper off and the same underwear he just showed me he helped her get on. They’re both really excited and he was helping her go potty so hey more power to him.

Kyla was really excited about Preston helping her and tried to potty a zillion different times but DID succeed, yay!!!!!

Though don’t get to excited yet.

Dad comes home and has bath and bedtime while I go out and snow blow the driveway(peace and quiet for me). After I finish and come back in Jarod informs me that when he had her come up stairs to take a bath, she got up from working on her puzzle and went up stairs, WET pants and all, without saying a word!

Yep, we still got a long ways to go, she could just care less but that’s our Kyla and we love her!!

Haitian Adpoption Petition

Hey guys!

There is a petition out right now that I and others would love your support on. It is to increase the number of children in the home(biological) when adopting. Right now the new law is proposing 2 child max. If you have two children then you have to adopt a child with special needs or over the age of 5. This petition will allow us to adopt a child under 5, which is what we are wanting to do.

Here is the petition link:

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/Haiti-Adoption-Law?e

After you enter your info(at the end of the letter) it will take you to a donation page, I just closed this page and my signatures where still there, so no donation is needed but if you want to feel free! I have no association with the petition site other then signing the petition.

I hope you will take the time to sign and help the many children who need loving homes!

oh the fun

We met up with some friends, mine and Preston and Kyla’s at Fun World in Nashua, NH.

Preston loved everything and wants to go back so we can go on the roller coaster. It’s like a family fun center with arcade games, a huge climbing structure, other rides, snacks and a two story carousel.

Kyla loved the horses, which was the Carousel. But for some reason has become not to fond of the climbing structures lately.

Either way, the kids had fun! It was a bit old and because of that not the cleanest fun center I’ve been to. It wouldn’t be our first choice to go to again but we may make another trip one day.

visitor arrives

We had a visitor this weekend, Jarod’s brother stopped by for a few days. The kids were very excited to see and play with their Uncle Daniel.

They had fun taking pictures on Uncle Daniel’s laptop.

Preston couldn’t wait to show him his transformers and play transformers and crashing cars with him.

Kyla had a blast playing music with him, as they all “jammed” in the living room with the kids’ instruments.

yay!

Today was a fun day. Both kids got signed up for Gymnastics!

Kyla a had fun running around, climbing and jumping. She did good after the excitement of all the new things to look at wore off :0). Though she did periodically try to run over and join Preston’s class!

Preston was so exited for class. His class is really small and he loved it! The teacher said he listened really well and was excited to show her what he could do :0).

I’ll try to take some pictures…..

the calm after the storm

So we’ve finally passed Xmas and the kids have all calmed down and are enjoying their gifts, which have been put in rooms and such. It’s nice to finally have some peace around the house! Well, except the fact that Dad’s been home all week, which is really exciting for the kids!

Preston’s still making the rounds playing with all his toys and so is Sister. Though Kyla’s picked up another cold, actually she’s had this one for about a month it just keeps changing. Think we might head to the Dr. tomorrow….

The boys had fun playing in the snow today! But the real fun is tomorrow morning when Jarod has to plow the driveway ;0)!

The house has returned to normal, tree gone, decorations down and the excitement faded. It’s nice to have space in the living room again! Though we are starting to look at houses, need more room. Not going far hopefully same area just more space!

Well, now we gotta go put stuff in the attic so we can get up the stairs ;0)!
