The kids made ghosts yesterday, so I thought I would share them with everyone :0)
Preston’s ghost is above
and Kyla’s is below
Let’s see…
We really haven’t been doing much! Preston’s busy with school, Kyla’s busy discovering EVERYTHING, Jarod’s finishing up soccer and I’m just trying to keep up :0).
We’re trying to finish up odd jobs around the house before it gets too cold outside. We’ve gotten everything put away, just need to finish winterizing the trailer. Oh, we got a snowblower. I think Jarod is excited to use it :0)!
Preston is consumed with Transformers, he and Jarod have to pretend to be Transformers everynight… it’s hilarious :0)!! Though I was requested to draw Brawl(a Transformer) this morning only for Preston to take to school and share with EVERYONE. I am not an artist, NOT even close!!
Kyla is busy with asking 500 million questions about everything :0). Though she does answer half of her own questions, which is nice :0). She’s still busy with her baby dolls and horses and is in love with the HorseLand cartoon on CBS… Saturday morning cartoons are back, yes!
OH, we did make a trip to a play gym the other day. The kids had a blast and Kyla discovered how to get to the big slide all by herself, I think but maybe Preston helped.
We are still working on making the image for the totes!
I just need to put it together and get it “just right”. I’m going to make a prototype once I get it all done and post them for a pre-sale fundraiser… I think :0)
Anyways, here is what I’m heading towards:
Aren’t the FEET adorable!!!!! Thanks Rob!!
Oh, and the Wilson Family part is just a water mark so people can’t steal the image.
So Preston made a bat a school the other day and then the next day while at home I went upstairs to get something and there was a huge pile of toilet paper in the bathroom! Guess what they used to make the bats with at school?!?! Yep, the cardboard toilet paper roll, he made a bat at home along with a fantastic picture for me :0).
I talked to Laura yesterday from Angel Adoptions(AA) and we are going to move forward with our Home Study for our adoption, woohoo!
We should be hearing form our Social Worker here shortly to schedule our first meeting. In the meantime we will continue to gather all the paperwork needed and take it slow as we are waiting to hear what Haiti is going to do in reguards to it’s adoption requirements.
I’ll keep you all posted on the Home Study process :0).
Wow, it’s been a while!
We’ve been busy doing some Fall Cleaning. We got the pool covered for the winter, the basement cleaned up and the backyard picked up. Jarod even mowed the lawns. We are going to plan on working on the inside of the house over the winter that way if the market picks up we may sell the house. But who knows, the market is so bad out here, if you are selling. A friend of ours has had a place on the market for about a year and a half, it’s crazy!
Other then that we haven’t done a whole lot. Preston had a field trip to a farm the other day. He picked apples, lots of them and his own pumpkin. He’s very proud of his pumpkin!! Today he went to the dentist, hopefully his teeth are still very healthy. Though he’s starting to get towards the age of where they fall out and that’s going to be a hard transition! We’ve talked about it and he’s not to happy with the whole teeth falling out thing. Though he is also not happy that he’s older, he doesn’t want to grow up, or at least that’s what he tells us ;0).
Kyla on the other hand is talking 90 miles an hour and picking up words left and right. She having a blast keeping up with her big brother and beating him up too. Yeah, she’s a bully! Her hair is finally getting longer that it actually looks like she has a hair do. Her favorite thing right now is to ride her bike, which she is starting to peddle really well.
As for Jarod and I we are busy doing things around the house. Jarod does have soccer that he enjoys playing and I have my Mom’s Group that keeps me busy.
Well we got some news today that is going to slow things down a bit. Kathy from Children’s House International sent me a note this morning about some adoption requirements that we are going to have trouble meeting. We need to be 35 years old and married for at least 10 years.
When we started it was 30 years old and married for 5 years, these are the newer requirements. But as government goes and it all depending on whose in charge the people in charge of the Haitian adoption in Haiti have been holding adoptions to the old requirements, which is 35 and 10.
As bummed out as some might be we are actually okay with this. We were never in a hurry and new there would be delays and such, not exactly a 5 year delay but CHI and C4C are hopeful that the age/marriage requirements will “change” after the first of the year.
This doesn’t change our want to adopt, we will still move forward with our adoption. As for now we will probably move forward with our Home Study and get that done, just a bit slower. Then we’ll wait to hear more about the age/marriage requirements before we decide to either stick it out or switch to a different country, maybe Ethiopia. We’ll see :0).
So if anyone remembers I posted a couple of weeks ago about redoing our bathroom. Which was more of a necessity then a want but it was a want too :0). Anyways, we are almost done… how the weekend project turns into weeks, I have no idea. We’ve got the floor in, vanity/sink, toilet and painted. We still need to tile behind the sink and put the finishing touches on the floor(threshold and a seal thingy around the bottom of the vanity). Hopefully that will get done this weekend!!
Overall it is a HUGE improvement and a complete necessity. We found after taking the toilet off that the wax ring was completely gone and it was starting to leak onto the ceiling of the bathroom below. Now we have to patch a hole in that room, it’s always something!
Though since we went with a smaller vanity/sink there is more floor space in the bathroom, which was greatly needed. Keep in mind this is our ONLY bathroom upstairs, yep, NO master bath.
So below are some photos. The 1st photo is of the “original” bathroom after I started ripping up the floor and keep in mind the new bathroom isn’t finished yet, I’ll repost when it is, hopefully Monday :0). Oh and the holes in the wall(new photo) is where the wall was cut out to put in a tile towel rack!
