no clue

I have no clue when the last post was or what it was about…. sorry!

Let’s see, we had another Foster Child, JJ join our family…. roughly 3 weeks ago. His Birthday was today and we had a last minute mini party at Chuck E Cheese’s…. JJ’s choice. He’s been doing really well in our home and he and Preston are getting along great.

My car bit the dust… for about a week. Mice or chipmunks got in under the fuse box and ate through the main wiring cable…. not good. Now just hoping it won’t happen again. Even though we have a chipmunk ranch in our yard. I know mice are out there too but they are much sneakier then the chipmunks and squirrels.

Baby K is having surgery in a couple days. Having tubes put in and the excessive wax build up removed. Hoping this help her mild deafness… seriously, she has a conductive hearing loss which is effecting her speech.

Preston has a week and a half of school left, then he’ll be a big old 2nd grader. He’s gotten so big! And is really a good kid. He amazes me everyday. Whether it’s making us laugh or being kind, understanding and helpful towards others. It’s awesome to watch!!

This is Kyla’s last week of school. She’s been quite sassy lately. Mainly due to JJ moving in… hopefully it fades soon cause she’s driving me and JJ crazy.

Jarod’s still playing Soccer. We’ve been able to make it out to one game so far. He and Kyla are going to make a trip to Seattle soon to celebrate his Grandma’s 80th Bday. It’ll be good Kyla Daddy time and even though I love her very much, it’ll be a nice break from her. She’s very trying at times ;0)

I’m just trying to keep up with everyone and make sure they all have lunch and get on the bus. I usually escape at least once a week with my friend Dawn to hit up the local 2nd hand store, Savers. It’s a nice break from the house and a great person to talk with. She is also a Foster Mom, so we are good outlets for each other ;0)

This week my goal is to get the trailer ready to go. I moved it a bit so I could get in and out of it easier and clean the outside. The kids are already asking to go camping, so we’ll be gone soon. To where, not sure yet. Think we’ll head out soon though and be gone for a while. Gotta figure out the Summer schedule…. always something ;0)

woohoo back on track

So my computer life is going to be much, much better. Jarod brought me home a new and faster iMac… Yay!! I don’t have all my files on it yet but I can already tell the difference in just using the basics. Can’t wait to use Aperture!!!

We’ve been busy, as always, with the kids’ activities…. or I should say Preston’s. He’s got Hockey, Baseball and Soccer every week. Kyla just ended her sports class and we’re gonna take a break. I’ll pry put her back in gymnastics in the fall, more her speed. She’s not ready to do the team type of games yet. Don’t get me wrong she can do it, she just won’t. Baby K is doing well, she’s getting tubes in her ears in a week so we’ll see if that makes any difference in her language and all. Jarod’s committed to Soccer for the Spring but will add Baseball in the Summer. For now he’s helping coach Preston’s Baseball team.

Gonna tackle the pool this weekend. Already have the cover off, just need to put a new skimmer in and then get it all hooked up and running. Hopefully the weather cooperates :0)

Falling Apart

I’m falling apart, well not really but it sure feels like it. Physically, not mentally. Had my yearly physical Friday and felt so bad going over my list of things to talk about. But in short gotta make an appointment with an Ortho and pain doctor. I hurt my tailbone almost a year and a half ago and it still hurts. Yes, I’ve had an x-ray. It was clean though. Gotta get my joints checked out, having a lot of pain in them lately. Yep, already have a blood panel being done. Checking for types of arthritis, lime and who knows what else. Oh and upped my Prozac. What a difference! The iron has helped but the Prozac is like night and day. I already have more energy and my mood is more level. Yay!

Preston finished up Hockey last weekend. Their team went undefeated in the regular season and then lost a couple games in the playoffs but made it to the Championship game and WON!!! They have a Pancake Breakfast next weekend where they will get their trophies. Preston also participated in a Shoot out Contest at the local minor league Hockey arena. He entered as a goalie. A friend of his entered as a player. They both did great! Neither have been taught how to do shoot outs so they totally just went out there and had fun. It was great practice for Preston… any ice time is good! There were 5 goalies and he and another boy tied so they did another round and Preston beat out the kid to move on to the second round!!! He didn’t make to the third and final round but no biggie. They still got t-shirts, medals and an autographed puck. Oh, and Preston was feeling quite sick by the end of the contest, so I was very proud of him!! He had a killer headache and felt sick to his stomach but held it together to finish up  the contest. Needless to say we didn’t get to hang around for the free pizza dinner and to watch the Devils play but oh well, next time.

Baby K has decided to tryout different illnesses. First we had Pneumonia. We caught it really really early so it didn’t do much at all to her. Could barely tell she had it. Her x-ray and blood work were fine. Then we went to the Ear specialist. Her hearing is bad and even worse on one side. So we are going to be trying tubes. They will also be getting the mas amount of wax out of her ears. Then this last week, she decided to tryout Strep Throat. This was a doozie!! She had the rash, with hives to boot. The poor girl was beyond miserable for about 3 days. She’s doing great now. No more benadryl or motrin, phew!

We had really good weather today. Spent most the day outside. Jarod had his first Soccer game, they didn’t win. Then we went over to our neighbors house and drug over their trampoline that they so generously gave us. All because I was bold enough to ask them if they ever wanted to get rid of it to give me a holler…. and they did :0). Kyla and I planted some flowers. Preston got a new bike and Kyla inherited his old one(with training wheels). We cleaned up the front yard and started on the back. Still lots of work to do back there but we’ll get it done…. hopefully :0)

Finally an answer

We get to move forward with adopting Baby K!!!!

We finally got word this morning that Baby K’s permanent home is with us. This means we will be moving forward with the adoption process. Her brother will be staying with his Foster Family and we will continue to do sibling visits.

This has been a very long process and is still a bit surreal to me but is starting to sink in.

Doing better

So Baby K’s X-rays and blood work came back clear and good. We caught it early enough that it didn’t even show up on the X-ray. For now she is on antibiotics and is doing great!!! She’s back to her silly goofy self today ;0).

Preston’s hockey team had the first rounds of their final tournament this morning. He started out in goal for the first game. They lost the game, it takes their team a little while to get going. But they won the second game. Preston played left defense and did great. They will continue the tournament next Sat. If they win their next game then they will play for the trophy!

Now on to cleaning, the poor house has been ignored.

poor girl never gets a break

So Baby K has been off all week, not sleeping right and came down with a cold on Tuesday. By Thursday she had that yucky green snot and was quite congested, which does not help with her hearing! We made a trip to the Dr but with the build up of wax that is in her ears they can’t see anything, therefore they don’t do anything. Sent us home and said to watch her.

So this morning we get up and she’s got a fever and is pretty out of it. I call to see how high a temp they want before we make come in and they want to see her. So off we go. After a little bit of listening to her lungs the Dr says she’s got Right Lower lobe pneumonia….. really?! So fast this stuff comes on. She was fine yesterday, besides the snotty congestion. Anyways, across the hall we go and she gets a couple chest x-rays and some blood drawn. And now what have we been doing for the last 3 hours, waiting, waiting for a phone call with the results. Once we get the phone call we will know what to do  for her, until then she’s napping.

Luckily she did finally eat some food for lunch and drank some milk.

Poor girl never gets a break!!

annnnnd go

So it’s been a while, sorry. For some reason my computer decided that it didn’t want me to blog but luckily I have a handy husband who fixed it so now if I don’t post it’ll just be me slackin’ ;0).

Anyways, I don’t even know where I left off so I’ll start with hockey. Preston’s season is coming to an end. They played their last regular season game today and won…. they were undefeated this year!!!! OH and the best part, Preston scored 2 goals…. that gives him a whoppin’ 4 for the season ;0). Next weekend is the tournament, then they  have one more weekend of tournament play to see who wins the trophy. Preston’s pretty excited as he gets to be goalie one more time this season. Which kinda brings us on to next season. Last week was the start of try-outs, yes try-outs. Poor 6,7,8 year olds have to try-out to get on the team of their choice….. so strange this hockey stuff. Preston did make the team he tried out for and even tried out for goalie. Hopefully he gets some good time in the net! Next season is a big jump, we’ll go from 1 practice and 1 game a week to 2 practices, a skills night, goalie clinic and 1-2 games a week. WOW!! For now he’s already signed up for a Goalie Camp this summer and most likely we’ll get him signed up for a skills class too. So important to get that ice time!! The good thing, he loves it and wants to do it! :0)

Kyla is back in school. She’s going 2 full days and loves it. She’s also started a new multi-sports class at the sports center. She just started on Friday and learned Football. While she was doing this I was working out. There’s a great Mommy Rocks class at the sports center that allows you to work out while your kids play…. all on the same field. It’s a great workout and the kids get to play and “help” you work out all at the same time.

Baby K, oh Baby K, where do we start! We had her 3rd six month review at DCF. Nothing really just touching base and seeing how the kids are doing. Then on to more waiting as a meeting was scheduled for the 19th…. did you catch that, “was”. I talked to the case worker the day before and the meeting was canceled. No real clue to why but do know that there is another one scheduled the 29th. So, more waiting, as usual. She’s doing good with Early Intervention and starting to “talk” more. Her sounds are so off though, it’s cute but she really does sound like she’s deaf. I wish everyone could here her sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star!

Me, I made a trip to the Dr. because I’ve been overly tired and wanted to get my iron levels checked as I have been anemic a couple times before and yep, my iron and blood count levels were low. Not too low but low enough to start a supplement at night and iron fortified cereal in the morning. I go back in a month and see how I’m doing. If no change then they will try adjusting my Prozac. Don’t know if I’ve mentioned my Prozac before…. I have PMDD, which is the PMS disorder. I basically had PMS for like 3 weeks out of the month, including while I was on my period. I tried herbs/vitamins for a couple years but it never seemed be consistent so finally gave up and went to the Dr. Let me tell ya, Prozac has been the best thing, I’m now down to 1, maybe 2 days a month of PMS. HUGE difference!!!

Jarod, he’s been working hard and playing hard. Got a new tv…. finally. He’s been bugging me for one for a looonggg time now. Got a good deal on a floor model, so yay, for him. He’s still playing Soccer. I think the season starts here in the next week or so. Not sure about Baseball though… do I dare write that, I might jinx myself ;0).

All-in-all we’ve been doing good. Getting routines down and under control. Glad tryouts are over, will be glad when the Baby K situation is finally decided but for now we’re finally enjoying the warm sunny weather outside!!
